Down comforters?

I have a down comforter and it needs to be washed. I read on the tag "Dry Clean Recommended" but does that mean I have to dry clean it? or can I just wash it on delicate in my home wash machine? Any suggestions?

2. Never dry-clean a down or feather product. After all, you wouldn't shampoo in dry-cleaning fluid, so why do so with the natural fibres of your favorite down. Have it cleaned by the professionals.
3. Never dry clean feathers. Take it to the laundromat where they have the large capacity front loaders. Dry until bone dry with a pair of clean sneakers to break up the mats of feathers.
